CP Full Course (Install & Maintenance)

A comprehensive course for engineers undertaking MGPS installation and maintenance activities. Covers practical safe working, core system components, fault-finding approaches, routine maintenance expectations and key installation considerations.​​

Course Content

This integrated course provides end-to-end coverage of Medical Gas Pipeline System competencies, bridging installation and maintenance requirements:

  • Understanding medical gas plant and system theory
  • Identifying and resolving basic faults, including interpreting routine plant‑monitoring system indications

  • Applying the MGPS permit‑to‑work system correctly and safely

  • Installation principles, best practices, and compliance requirements

  • Pipe jointing techniques, safety considerations, and hands‑on jointing exercises

  • MGPS testing procedures, including practical performance of statutory and functional tests

  • Emergency procedures for MGPS incidents and system failures

  • Preparing method statements, health and safety documentation, and operational policies

  • Reading, interpreting, and revising pipeline drawings, including as‑fitted documentation

  • Plant and system maintenance procedures, planned preventative maintenance, and record‑keeping

The curriculum is designed to be highly relevant to real working environments, ensuring delegates can transition from theory to practice with confidence.

Assessment & Certification

At the conclusion of the certified training, delegates complete an assessment designed to confirm comprehension across both installation and maintenance disciplines.

  • Assessment Type: Combination of multiple-choice and practical scenario review

  • Competency Confirmation: Delegates must demonstrate a clear understanding of key course principles

​

Upon successful completion, each participant receives a certified Competent Person (MGPS) Full Training Certificate, demonstrating their competence in both MGPS installation and/or maintenance practices. This certification supports organisational compliance frameworks and demonstrates investment in staff capability.
