AP Refresher Course (MGPS)

A refresher course for practising AP (MGPS) personnel to reinforce best practice, documentation control and safe management of MGPS work activities. Refresh your knowledge around permits, isolations, alarm management, plant awareness and maintaining compliance in busy clinical environments.​​​

Course Content

This refresher training focuses on the key areas of competence required for an Authorised Person (MGPS) to continue to meet HTM 02-01 standards.

 

Topics include:

• Updated overview of Medical Gas Pipeline System principles

• Regulatory and statutory obligations for Authorised Persons

• Review of system design, installation and oversight expectations

• Re-examination of Permit-to-Work systems and safe work controls

• Supervision and management of Competent Person activities

• Documentation review and control for compliance and audit readiness

• Practical updates on performance requirements for MGPS infrastructure

• Emergency readiness and incident response guidance

• Reaffirming responsibilities for operational policy and procedure monitoring

• Recent trends in MGPS testing and quality assurance

Practical group activities and real-world scenario discussions ensure delegates are refreshed not just in theory but in application.​

Assessment & Certification

At the end of the training, delegates complete a structured assessment (typically multiple-choice and scenario-based questions) to confirm understanding of refreshed content and key responsibilities.

On successful completion, each delegate receives an Authorised Person (MGPS) Refresher Training Certificate, demonstrating that their skills and knowledge remain aligned with HTM 02-01 expectations.
