AP Comprehensive Course (MGPS)
A comprehensive Authorised Person (MGPS) training course covering responsibilities, safe systems of work and effective control of work on MGPS. Designed for staff stepping into an AP role who need confidence with permit-to-work, isolation planning, incident response and managing contractors working on live healthcare systems.​

Course Content
The programme covers all core elements required for Authorised Person (MGPS) competency, including:

Fundamentals and operating principles of Medical Gas Pipeline Systems

Legal, statutory, and regulatory responsibilities under HTM 02-01

MGPS system design considerations and installation requirements
-
Permit-to-Work systems: structure, control, and ongoing management
-
Oversight and supervision of Competent Person (MGPS) activities
-
Management of MGPS-related contracts and third-party works
-
Performance requirements for MGPS plant and pipeline infrastructure
-
Technical reporting, including system capacity assessments, limitations, and upgrade planning
-
MGPS documentation requirements and record management
-
Emergency procedures and incident response protocols

Development, implementation, and monitoring of MGPS operational policies

Testing, verification, and quality control processes

Assessment & Certification
This certified course concludes with a multiple-choice assessment to confirm understanding of key principles and responsibilities.
